Strengthen Your Doula Business
This June, every Wednesday from 6–7 PM, Shorter College will offer virtual entrepreneurship classes exclusively for DA‑AR members. These sessions are designed to give doulas the business skills needed to build sustainable, high‑earning careers in birth work.
At DA‑AR, we know many doulas enter this field with deep passion but without access to formal business training. As the doula workforce grows across Arkansas, it’s essential that doulas are equipped, confident, and supported to operate successful independent practices. Strengthening your business strengthens our entire ecosystem — and expands access to high‑quality doula care statewide.
Why this matters:
More doulas want to move from part‑time work to full‑time, sustainable careers.
Higher‑paying opportunities require strong business foundations.
A prepared, professional doula workforce is key to improving maternal health outcomes in Arkansas.
Shorter College will offer month‑long entrepreneurial certificate series, each consisting of four weekly sessions. During each 4‑week series, you’ll meet once a week to build core business skills through topics such as:
Principles of Marketing — Understanding your clients and attracting the right ones
Principles of Entrepreneurship — Business planning, financing, legal basics, and operations
Small Business Financing — Cash flow, budgeting, financial statements, and long‑term planning
Business Law — Legal principles that affect everyday business decisions
This continued education opportunity is an investment in your future as a doula entrepreneur. Each month long series is $150, and the first class begins June 3rd at 6 PM.
Register here to secure your spot and grow your doula business.
