Strengthen Your Doula Business
This June, every Wednesday from 6–7 PM, Shorter College will offer virtual entrepreneurship classes exclusively for DA‑AR members. These sessions are designed to give doulas the business skills needed to build sustainable, high‑earning careers in birth work.
At DA‑AR, we know many doulas enter this field with deep passion but without access to formal business training. As the doula workforce grows across Arkansas, it’s essential that doulas are equipped, confident, and supported to operate successful independent practices. Strengthening your business strengthens our entire ecosystem — and expands access to high‑quality doula care statewide.
Why this matters:
More doulas want to move from part‑time work to full‑time, sustainable careers.
Higher‑paying opportunities require strong business foundations.
A prepared, professional doula workforce is key to improving maternal health outcomes in Arkansas.
Shorter College will offer month‑long entrepreneurial certificate series, each consisting of four weekly sessions. During each 4‑week series, you’ll meet once a week to build core business skills through topics such as:
Principles of Marketing — Understanding your clients and attracting the right ones
Principles of Entrepreneurship — Business planning, financing, legal basics, and operations
Small Business Financing — Cash flow, budgeting, financial statements, and long‑term planning
Business Law — Legal principles that affect everyday business decisions
This continued education opportunity is an investment in your future as a doula entrepreneur. Each month long series is $150, and the first class begins June 3rd at 6 PM.
Register here to secure your spot and grow your doula business.

Arkansas Doulas- Fearless Family Series
We know stepping into life with a new baby can feel overwhelming. Your body is changing, your routines are shifting, and the world is full of opinions about what you “should” do. The Fearless Family Series is here to quiet the noise and help you discover your own voice, your own rhythm, and your own confidence.
Preparing for birth and parenthood can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to. Our Fearless Family Series is a comprehensive, weekend-long class designed to take you from “What do we do now?” to feeling confident and ready. In just 10 hours, we’ll cover everything you need to know — from childbirth education and pain coping tools, to feeding basics (breast, bottle, and beyond), to newborn care and what real life looks like in the first days and weeks.
Led by experienced doulas and lactation professionals, this series combines practical skills with honest conversation, leaving you empowered with knowledge you can trust. Whether it’s your first baby or you’re adding to your family, the Fearless Family Series is your all-in-one guide to welcoming your little one with confidence, calm, and support.

DA-AR Doula Roundtable
DA‑AR Doula Roundtables — Monthly Virtual Office Hours
The DA‑AR Doula Roundtables are a monthly virtual gathering for doulas across Arkansas to connect, learn, and strengthen their practice together. Each session offers space to walk through state certification steps, Medicaid provider enrollment, billing and claims questions, and real‑world scenarios doulas are navigating in their work.
These roundtables are designed as a collaborative forum — a place where doulas can bring questions, share insights, and receive guidance from peers and DA‑AR leadership. Whether you’re newly certified, working toward certification, or supporting families every day, this is a supportive, solutions‑focused space to grow your confidence and stay aligned with statewide standards.
Join us each month as we build community, deepen our collective knowledge, and continue advancing doula professionalism across Arkansas.
