This space helps families, birth workers, and partners stay connected to learning opportunities, support groups, and events happening in their area. New events are added every month by our doula members, making it easy to explore what’s happening near you and across the state.

Conway Regional Walk to Remeber
Join Conway Regional in our annual Walk To Remember event. This walk is to remember the little ones who left us too soon due to early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, neonatal death or in the first few months of life.
The Perinatal Bereavement Program at Conway Regional Health System is dedicated to supporting those families that have suffered the tragedy of such a loss. All families and friends who have been touched by these types of losses are invited to attend.

Two Balanced Mama favorites, in one weekend!
Saturday: 10am- 4pm: BirthingTime Basics
All the information from our childbirth class series in one session! Lots of time for movement, questions, and practicing for labor and delivery.
Sunday: 10am- 4pm: Balanced Baby
Breastfeeding, baby feeding, babywearing, postpartum recovery... and more! We include plenty of hands on practice, discussion, and, of course, resources galore.
Both days will include morning coffee, light snacks throughout the day, and printed information & resources to take home. The days will also include breaks for lunch, with lots of options available within walking distance!
*Ticket price includes entry for pregnant person and their partner or support person.

Stand Up for Kids!
Stand Up for Kids
We hope you can join us on October 27 at 1:30 P.M. for Stand Up for Kids, an opportunity to connect, learn, and take action on issues impacting Arkansas children and families. This event will be followed by a screening of an Arkansas-based documentary baby/girls.
Arkansas ranks near the bottom in the country on many markers of child well-being. But with good public policy we can turn the tide and improve the lives of kids throughout the state.
At this event, Arkansas Advocates leaders will share the Children’s Agenda, a list of policy priorities that, if passed, would make significant improvements for the children and families of our state. We will discuss ways you can advocate as an individual, organizations, and a community.
Afterwards, we will host a free screening of the Arkansas-based documentary baby/girls and hear the stories of young moms navigating the impacts of a lack of sexual health education, generational trauma, and poverty. The screening will be followed by a community discussion about how Arkansans can work together to improve the outcomes for teens in our state.

Improve labor outcomes with a Spinning Babies® Foundational Workshop. Learn our physiological techniques that offer a complete system of birth preparation and labor ease concepts to improve labor with the baby's position.
Spinning Babies® begins with fetal rotation to reveal the lesser-known physiology of birth anatomy. Your passion, our approach. Start seeing solutions in labor progress with this new lens on childbirth.
After this workshop you will be able to:
Facilitate comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth for your clients
Improve fetal position without manipulation of the fetus
Identify issues faster; gentle actions to shorten a long labor or avoid a cesarean

Prenatal Pediatrics: Accelerating Translational Research to Integrate Maternal, Fetal and Infant Health (Copy)
Prenatal pediatrics is an evolving field dedicated to improving the health of the maternal-fetal dyad from conception throughout the critical period of pregnancy and beyond. The field integrates pediatrics and obstetrics with all medical subspecialties to focus on optimizing fetal health, which plays a key role in determining the offspring’s infant, childhood and lifetime health. The goal of the Accelerating Translational Research to Integrate Maternal, Fetal and Infant Health conference is to advance prenatal pediatrics as an invaluable framework for research to reduce the risk for childhood chronic diseases.

Arkansas Wave Of Light
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance is observed each year on Oct. 15 with the Arkansas Wave of Light Ceremony in Little Rock. This year’s event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, on the steps of the Arkansas State Capitol. In the event of inclement weather, it will be moved to the parking deck underneath the Victory Building at 1401 W. NWA Arkansas Department of Health Free Maternal Health Event
he Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) will host free community events in Northwest and Southeast Arkansas this fall to connect expectant and new mothers, families, and members of their support networks with services that support their health and well-being before, during, and after pregnancy.
The events are regional versions of the third annual MOM Block Party and Women’s Health Expo held in Little Rock in May. Each event will bring together ADH programs, Arkansas Health Unit (AHU) representatives, health professionals, community organizations, and local service providers to help families learn about resources available in their communities and identify a clear next step for continued care.
Attendees will learn about maternal and postpartum health, WIC, immunizations, breastfeeding support, family planning, and other services available through AHUs and participating community organizations.
“Families should be able to find support and trusted information close to home,” said Arkansas Secretary of Health Renee Mallory. “By bringing these events to Northwest and Southeast Arkansas, we can connect more women and families with health professionals, community organizations, and services that can support them throughout pregnancy and beyond.”
The Northwest Arkansas event will be tailored to the region and the needs of the communities it serves, including Marshallese and Hispanic families. Community-specific resources and programming will help attendees connect with and learn about available local services. Additional information about participating organizations and event activities will be announced closer to the event.
